If you stick a bunch of vampires in a house and turn cameras on them, it turns out they act exactly like the cast of “The Real Housewives.” Talking behind each other’s backs, going to parties, and arguing over fashion.
The new ‘mockumentary’ “What We Do in the Shadows” stars Jemaine Clement (Flight of the Conchords) and Taika Waititi who also serve as the film’s writers and directors. The film has been a 10-year journey that started long before films like “Twilight” made vampires cool.
“We are trying to follow them [vampires] through the parts where they are not mysterious and cool and sitting outside your window. We want to see it from their point of view,” Clement told Alicia Menendez.
And it turns out living forever might actually suck … pun intended.
“I think humans given immortality will sort of just waste their time and keep putting things off. They’re just procrastinators,” Waititi said.

“What We Do in the Shadows” opens Feb. 13.
