Live stream: shooting of 2 NYPD cops in Brooklyn

Two New York Police officers were shot dead on Saturday in Bedford-Stuyvesant in Brooklyn. The suspect also died.

Fusion’s Tim Pool lives near the Myrtle Avenue area in Brooklyn that has been closed off from the scene of the crime and is live streaming what he sees.

Earlier in the day, social media reports indicated unusual police activity in Myrtle Avenue in Brooklyn.

The Reverend Al Sharpton tweeted his outrage about the killings.

The New York Post reports a gunman shot two police officers in uniform who were standing in their police car in the corner of Myrtle and Tompkins avenues. The alleged gunman allegedly posted on his Instagram account a photo of a gun with a message that included: “They Take 1 Of Ours … Let’s Take 2 of Theirs,” in reference to the shootings of Michael Brown and Eric Garner earlier this year.

The suspect then ran to a subway station and fatally shot himself in the head, according to the The New York Post.

The New York City police commissioner is expected to provide more information during a conference at 7 p.m.
