Abortion clinics set to close on Sept. 1

On September 1, four out of five abortion clinics in Louisiana might close because of a new law, HB388. The law requires physicians who perform abortions to have privileges to admit patients at nearby hospitals in case of complications.

Louisiana is not alone, nine more states, most of them in the south, have passed similar legislation, which has resulted in the closures of dozens of clinics across the country in the last three years.
