RNC Communications Director and Chief Strategist Sean Spicer told Jorge Ramos he would “absolutely” recommend that Donald Trump speak to him, after having been invited for an interview multiple times.
During the interview with both Ramos and Alicia Menendez on the second night of the Republican National Convention, Spicer also acknowledged that when it comes to winning Latino votes, Republicans have a long way to go. “The only way that we’re gonna do better among all Americans–including the Latino community, the black community–is to go out there, engage, talk about our solutions, talk about our values.”
He also dismissed the idea that Melania Trump plagiarized the speech she gave on night one of the convention. “If you search those phrases that were used, you can get hundreds, if not thousands, of hits on those phrases,” he said. “Those are common things that normal people use in discussion.”
