Up to five million people stand to be protected from deportation under DAPA (Deferred Action for Parents of Americans) and extended DACA (Deferred Action for Childhood Arrivals). Fusion’s Mariana Atencio was on the steps of the Supreme Court, where oral arguments were underway regarding whether Obama’s executive actions on immigration are constitutional. And the stakes are high: it’s the first time a decision regarding undocumented people will be made on a national scale. Atencio spoke to a number of American citizens who will be impacted by the decision, and whose top issue this election season is immigration.
