Lance Bass On Being Gay and Going Home to Mississippi

We always love when Lance Bass stops by Fusion Live He’s not only a friend of the show, but a personal friend of Pedro Andrade, hence our special segment: “Pedro’s Friends.”

Lance dished on his new single, “Walking on Air,” available now on iTunes, as well as a new documentary, “Mississippi: I Am” which has special significance to the former ‘N Sync member.

“We went down there and threw a second chance prom,” Lance said of the film which is an eye-opening view of what it is like to be a gay kid in Mississippi, Bass’ home state. “The leaders there…. the older leaders there just cant figure it out. They are very stale in their thoughts.”

Lance gave credit to his ‘N Sync past as a big help for his cause. “I feel very blessed I get to be a part of this movement. I’m just happy to be a part of this era where I can help change people’s minds,” he said. “I’m glad I was able to be part of ‘N Sync so I have the market.”

Lance also commented on the entertainment news of the day: leaked video of Justin Bieber using the n-word.

“It’s very sad and I don’t think he is going to recover from this one at all.”
