These are the hopes, dreams, and desires of the new pastor at Emanuel AME Church in Charleston

The Rev. Dr. Betty Deas Clark took over as pastor at Charleston, South Carolina’s Emanuel AME Church after the unimaginable tragedy there last summer. The previous pastor, the Rev. Clementa Pinckney, was one of nine people killed at the church on June 17, 2015, in an allegedly racially motivated attack.

Now Clark is speaking out as part of our #DearNextPresident project. Watch the video above to find out what she wants most of all as her church and community continue to try to heal.
