Deep in California’s central valley you will find the small town of McFarland. The town is at the center of “McFarland, USA,” a new film by Fusion’s parent company, Disney. It’s based on a real-life high school coach who built a cross country dynasty out of kids who worked in the fields. The team’s success changed those kids’ lives and the town forever.
Nearly 30 years later, many of those involved in the journey still call McFarland home. ABC News’ Mike Hart spent time with them in McFarland ahead of the film’s February 2015 release.
