Fifty-nine percent of Canadians support the legalization of marijuana. In British Columbia, that number grows to 70 percent. Nicknamed “Vansterdam” in the 1990s, Vancouver is the heart of British Columbia and Canada’s weed scene. With more than 45 dispensaries around the city and a police department that has a more relaxed stance around the drug, it’s no surprise that Marc Emery, the Prince of Pot, calls this place home. Fusion’s Eric Herbst went to Vancouver to meet the prince himself after his release from jail and other marijuana activists pushing for legalization in the 2015 federal elections.
