Ramona Pierson, a former Marine, was hit by a drunk driver 30 years ago. The accident put her in a coma for 18 months and left her blind for 11 years. During her long recovery, which included brain surgery that helped her regain her vision, she had to relearn how to do virtually everything. Pierson is the founder of Declara, a company that builds personalized learning technology.
