The 100,000 Opportunities Initiative is a coalition led by big employers who are committed to hiring 100,000 “opportunity youth”—16- to 24-year-olds who face systemic barriers to jobs and education—by 2018.
When the initiative recently hosted a job fair in Phoenix, more than 1,700 young people turned up for the chance to interview with 25 potential employers, including Starbucks, Microsoft, and Nordstrom. Many of them stopped by Fusion’s #DearNextPresident booth to let us know what they’re looking for in a president.
From affordable education, to immigration, to voting rights, watch the video above to see what America’s youngest job seekers are passionate about this election season. Then record your own message and add your voice to the conversation. Fusion is asking young people around the country to talk about their most pressing issues this election season using the phrase “Dear next president….” You can learn more about the project, hear more voices from the campaign, and learn how to contribute your own video to #DearNextPresident.
