Fusion's Jorge Ramos on what he learned covering the 2016 race

Jon Huntsman says no to 2016 and opens up about what went wrong in 2012

Former Utah Governor Jon Huntsman told Fusion’s Jorge Ramos he will not be running for president in 2016, but he didn’t rule out a future run for political office.

“Maybe we have one more run in us at some point but not this political cycle,” Huntsman said.

Huntsman also opened up about what went wrong with his failed 2012 presidential bid.

“The issues that I advocated for were not necessarily the ones that people were interested in,” he said.

In addition to focusing on issues that didn’t resonate with voters, Huntsman also suspects his late entry into the campaign led to his downfall. Huntsman dropped out of the race after finishing third in the New Hampshire Republican primary.

Since the 2012 race, Huntsman has remained an important player in the political scene and likely will be for years to come.
