I’m extremely late to the online dating scene. For years, while friends slogged their way through fumbled texts, awkward drinks, and ghosting, I watched mindfully from the sidelines. Now that I’m finally getting into the game, I thought I’d have a leg up—I’ve got all the knowledge and none of the cynicism!
Just a few weeks into my “debut,” however, I feel like a house cat let out into the wild. I’m also finding that I have tons of extremely specific questions at every juncture. To get on the right path from the start, I’ve enlisted the help of my coworkers, along with a few professionals, for Swiped—our new original video series about online dating etiquette.
First up, to Google stalk or not to Google stalk? Personally, I have not been Googling my dates before we hang out, which is something I take pride in.
