Suzan Johnson Cook: Do something about 'mass incarceration of black and brown boys'

Suzan Johnson Cook, a pastor and former official in the Clinton and Obama administrations, wants the next president to focus on women’s issues, which means addressing income inequality and domestic violence. As a mother of color, she’s also focused on “the mass incarceration of black and brown boys” — and helping them when they get out of prison.

Cook, a Democrat who’s running to succeed retiring Rep. Charles Rangel in Congress, is speaking out as part of our #DearNextPresident project — and you can, too. Fusion is asking young people around the country to talk about their most pressing issues this election season using the phrase “Dear next president….” You can learn more about the project, hear more voices from the campaign, and learn how to contribute your own video to #DearNextPresident.
