Before you get too excited about the Vatican’s new attitude about the LGBTQ community, you should know this move might not be all that significant. This week, bishops from all over the country met in Rome. Out of the closed-door meeting, a preliminary report was published that suggested we could see a major overhaul in the Church’s outlook on the LGBTQ community coming down the pipeline. Fusion’s Alicia Menendez sat down with TIME.com’s religion correspondent, Elizabeth Dias, and Christopher Hale, a senior fellow at Catholics in Alliance for Common Good, to ask how important this shift is and what impact our generation is having, if any, on religious doctrines.
