When Bernie Sanders was interrupted by members of the Black Lives Matter movement at his campaign rally in Seattle last month, it looked like the young activists could yet pose the biggest threat to his White House run.
But Symone Sanders, recently named the candidate’s national press secretary, disagrees. The 25-year-old says the democratic candidate is actually the favorite candidate among the Black Lives Matter movement, across party lines.
She spoke to Jorge Ramos about why she gave up the chance to join Hillary Clinton’s campaign, and why Bernie Sanders has exactly what it takes to win the hearts of young voters in 2016.
