Fusion’s Jorge Ramos spoke with Philadelphia Mayor Michael Nutter about how the city is working with the U.S. Secret Service to prepare for the Pope’s visit in September.
“The Secret Service has their standards and protocols, we have at the city, some standards and protocols,” the mayor told Ramos. “Sometimes there are differences in that regard, and we talk about those things across the table.”
Nutter also spoke about the Department of Justice report released earlier this year that shed some light on police misconduct in the City of Brotherly Love.
“We asked the Justice Department to come in and take a look at what’s going on with officer involved shootings. In that regard, we were getting proactive.”
