That’s all folks. After 16 years and over 2,000 guests, Jon Stewart’s tenure as host of The Daily Show has come to an end. There was a cavalcade of stars as the “Best Fucking News Team On The Planet” grew to its largest size. There was a Goodfellas homage, too! It was all really fantastic.
Stewart’s final goodbye to his squad was, seriously, perfect. Video above.
“This show isn’t ending…it’s a small pause in the conversation…rather than say goodbye or goodnight, I’m just going to say, ‘I’m going to go get a drink.’ And I’m sure I’ll see you guys before I leave.”
Prior to saying his last goodbye, Stewart when on one last rant about some “bullshit.”
There was even a Goodfellas homage that paid tribute to all the behind-the-scenes crew members who made the show run smoothly, too, and it was very well done.
Some us on on the Fusion news team are really going to miss The Daily Show with Jon Stewart, but we can’t wait to see what the man does next.
Here is a list of the for-one-night-only, special-and-expanded edition of “The Best Fucking News Team On The Planet” as well as the other notable people who stopped by to say hello.
