El Chapo, CEO of Crime: Escaped

Joaquin “Chapo” Guzman, Mexico’s most notorious drug lord, has escaped from the maximum security prison of Altiplano through a secret shower hatch and a 1-mile tunnel. This is Chapo’s second successful prison break: in 2001 he broke out of a prison in Jalisco, either sneaking out in a laundry cart or disguised as a woman.

In the wake of the world’s most powerful drug trafficker’s escape, Fusion updated a documentary titled “El Chapo Guzmán, CEO of Crime” which aired in November 2013. More powerful than Pablo Escobar ever was, and more elusive, the documentary takes viewers behind the scenes to meet the investigative reporters who faced dangerous situations to uncover the story of El Chapo.
