Wasteland: A First Look

How the makers of Pixar's 'Inside Out' figured out how to think like a tween

Making Inside Out required getting inside the mind of an 11-year-old girl—a complicated, emotional, and mysterious space. The creators of the movie, out Friday, were tasked with figuring out what our emotions—joy, fear, anger, disgust, and sadness—look like, and what they actually do.

Fusion talked to them about bringing intangible emotions to life on the big screen, which meant creating—literally—the world inside their, and our, heads.

Fusion is partly owned by Disney’s ABC network.
