Man Crush Monday: Franck Ribery proves that godliness is next to sexiness

As we wrap up this season of Soccer Gods for the summer, it’s high time we take a look back at one of the sun-sung underdogs of the Man Crush-able annals.

It’s time for a long-overdue shout-out to Bayern Munich winger Franck Ribery.

Well, let’s fix that right away.

We should really be calling him Bilal Yusuf Mohammed, since he converted to Islam in 2006. Ooooh, a spiritual man!

But really, what else is most holy about Ribery, as he’s more commonly known to sports fans? I’m gonna go with his smile, which he shares so openly with the world.

PARIS - NOVEMBER 19: Franck Ribery of France gives you a wink and a smile.

Who needs Ezequiel Lavezzi running around shirtless in French football, when you’ve got Ribery being all angry and tough? Rowr!

The only thing not *quite* so holy about Ribery? That whole *alleged* kerfuffle with an underage prostitute in 2009 — but he got cleared last year, so we’ll go with what the law says, okay?

But hey, Ribery’s just got that actor look, you know? He’s got the je ne sais quoi we can only describe as Cronenberg-worthy. You’re not gonna find one of these other classic pretty-boy footballers qualifying for a role as, say, gang member number three, right?

So we salute you, Ribery i.e. Bilal Yusuf Mohammed. You’re the jewel of French football, and of all the man crushes ever!
