Did LeBron James choose Miami when he played–for a total of four seasons—for the Miami Heat, or did the city choose LeBron?
Charles Barkley made it very clear he blames the city, calling Heat fans “phonies, phonier than a $6 bill.”
The retired NBA player turned TNT sports analyst didn’t stop there: he continued insulting Miami and its fans, despite Dan Le Batard pointing out that attendance at Heat games has remained high since LeBron left last year to re-sign with the Cleveland Cavaliers.
“[Miami Heat fans] don’t know anything about basketball,” Barkley said. “They went and saw that trash this year, they should be embarrassed.”
