This week, as violent protests gripped the city over the death of Freddie Gray, the Baltimore Police Department put out a “credible threat” report saying that several gangs in the area had united to “take out” law-enforcement officials. But gang members themselves have denied that claim, saying instead that rival gangs have come together to stop the violence.

“Even though it’s a fight we know we’re going to lose, it’s going to be a fight we always fight,” the man said.
