Fusion's Jorge Ramos on what he learned covering the 2016 race

This is what really happens at a 'cuddle party'

It’s no secret that cuddling is chock-full of health benefits: lower blood pressure, reduced stress, better sleep, and a stronger immune system.

But what if you don’t have a cuddle partner? That’s where cuddle parties come in! For the uninitiated, a cuddle party is a group event where people (read: strangers) get together and cuddle in safe, platonic environments (no back alley stuff here).

Sound weird? Of course it does. To get a sense of what really goes down at at these touchy-feely happenings, Fusion’s Eric Herbst decided to experience one first hand. (You know, for research.)

Not only did he ask the hard questions (How did I end up in this massage train?), but he bravely explored the world of touch by getting up close and personal with real-life cuddle buddies—so you don’t have to.

Watch AMERICA with Jorge Ramos Tuesdays at 10 pm EST.
