Ingrid Michaelson is smart, funny, and beautiful. And she’s got a heck of a voice.
But if you ask her, she’ll describe herself simply as “a girl from Staten Island who loves her family and her friends, and makes music,” and she says that she “can’t be gone too long without being home.”
Yet, after being on the road for two years for her “Lights Out Tour,” she gets a mere pit stop at home before embarking on her biggest tour yet, “A Summer Night Out with Ingrid Michaelson,” beginning in June.
Fusion met up with Ingrid during her last show of the “Lights Out Tour” to see first-hand her relentless passion for music, to understand how she is constantly evolving as an artist, and to hear an intimate a cappella performance of “Warpath.”
This is an episode of SoundBites, a Fusion original web series. Whether on tour, at the recording studio, or at home, SoundBites provides a rare, behind-the-scenes glimpse at the lives of today’s top musical artists.
