Especially in the opening week of the season and for an expansion club, this is solid Twitter trolling from Orlando City: confirming a 60,000-ticket sellout for its Major League Soccer debut, reminding everyone it has Kaká, while reminding Sunday’s opponents that they don’t (yet) have Frank Lampard.
It’s clear Orlando is going to add significantly to the league. It even pinned the tweet.
Orlando’s official Twitter account has only 65,000 followers, though; New York City FC’s has 147,000. That’s twice as many as most MLS teams, behind only the LA Galaxy, Seattle and Toronto, and already 24,000 more than the Red Bulls. And only 1.5 million followers behind Alex Morgan.
