Aston Villa cancelled its goal of the month vote for October because it didn’t score any

Every month, Aston Villa has a goal of the month vote on its website. Except for October. In October 2014, Aston Villa scored zero goals. Not a one.

When Andreas Weimann scored against Tottenham on Nov. 2, it broke a 547-minute goalless spell. From Sept. 13 through Sunday, Aston Villa went 49 days without scoring a goal. That, in case you’re wondering, is a bad record.
