Spain wants Zidane to stop coaching, France says he shouldn’t have to

Firstly, Zinedine Zidane’s just a few months away from completing a three-year coaching course. Secondly, he’s Zinedine Zidane.

Yet the Spanish federation on Monday gave him a three-month coaching ban for coaching Real Madrid’s reserve team without the right qualifications, which the club plans to appeal.

So he was qualified enough to work as an assistant to Carlo Ancelotti last year with the first team, but he’s not allowed to teach the reserves how to do this?

Plus, he’s got a certificate from the French Football Federation, issued just two weeks ago, which says he can coach anywhere. It also legally entitles him to turn up at your house uninvited, eat your food, sleep in your bed, put his feet on your couch, and head-butt anyone who complains.

Because he’s Zidane.
