Timbers Army went and pissed off its own club's owner

Certain people want MLS to be more European. For them, today’s Twitter exchange between Portland Timbers’ owner Merritt Paulson and the club’s main supporters groups (or, at least, whoever was in control of the group’s account) should warm their cold Euro hearts.

The Timbers Army account went on a fairly lengthy rant following the team’s Tuesday loss, a 3-1 defeat that knocked the Timbers out of CONCACAF Champions League:

I’ll respect your intelligence here, avoid the commentary and just let you appreciate how absurd this is. Being a “footballing nation” is hard sometimes.
