This is widely considered Iker Casillas’ best save

Iker Casillas is a goalkeeper who was known for miraculous saves. He did them all the time, including in the finals of the Champions League and World Cup.

What everyone considers his best ever save, however, came in a random league match against Sevilla at the Sanchez Pizjuan. The victim his victim was Diego Perotti. Alvaro Negredo played the ball across to the back post where Perotti looked sure to score into an empty net. Casillas then appeared out of nowhere and denied him the goal.

It’s amazing. Watch it here:

After the game Casillas said: “Yeah, I guess you could say it was a pretty good save.”

The weird thing is that two years later, Casillas returned to the Sanchez Pizjuan and pulled off almost the exact same save. This time it was Manu del Moral who was denied.
