Clint Dempsey avoids public shame with respectable first pitch at Seattle Mariners game

Clint Dempsey is having a fantastic year. He’s settling down up in Seattle, bossing games and embarrassing colleagues alongside Obafemi Martins, making beaucoup dollars, probably catching large fishing every now and then, and now, you can add pitcher to his list of accomplishments.

Today, Dempsey threw out the first pitch at Safeco Field, where the Seattle Mariners took on the Boston Red Sox in stickball. By all accounts, things went well. Dempsey’s Sounders teammate Chad Barrett provided evidence that everyone was in one piece after the baseballing. No one had to use medical insurance.

As far as the quality of the actual pitch, from this angle (and internet reaction), Deuce didn’t go out like 50 Cent:

You did good, Clintopotamus.
