José Mourinho says there are better ways to celebrate champions than a guard of honor; we thought of five

Tradition states that when an English Premier League team wins the title, its next opponent forms a guard of honor to welcome the new Champions to the field.

After picking up three points on Sunday afternoon against Crystal Palace, Chelsea is the undisputed 2014-15 Premier League champion. Thus, according to tradition, Liverpool, Chelsea’s next league opponent, will be forming a guard to honor to welcome José Mourinho’s men next week at Stamford Bridge.

Mourinho, however, isn’t a big fan. “I don’t like the guard of honor,” Mourinho said. “If it’s tradition, that’s no problem for me [but] you can show respect for the winner in many different ways.”

Leave it to the Special One to challenge tradition. But he’s right; there are many ways to show respect for the Premier League champion. Here are a few:
