Want to watch some grown men lose their shit? Here are the fellows of English Championship club Watford FC, as seen through the visionary eye of cell phone video director and ex-Club América man, Miguel Layún.
That’s right, Layún has been playing second division English soccer since January, and you forgot about him. Don’t worry. That’s not why we’re here. This is about celebrating.
This is what it looks like when a Championship team finds out that they’ll be playing in the Premier League next season. Earlier today, Watford beat Bighton & Hove Albion (oh, England) 2-0. While on the team bus after the match, someone checked the rest of the league scores and realized that they had advanced to one of the Championship’s automatic promotion spots. It will be Watford’s first top-flight endeavor in eight years.
Because we want to stay upbeat here and share in Watford’s excitement, theres no need to point out that half of the folks in rapturous joy in this moment won’t be on the roster by the end of the summer. That would be rude.
