Want to hear PSV’s Memphis Depay rapping in Dutch? Okay then!

PSV and Dutch national team winger Memphis Depay might have the best name in all of soccer. Yes, it’s objectively better than Jan Vennegoor of Hesselink. He’s also a very good soccer player. What else. Manchester United rumors blah blah blah. Ah, that’s right. Depay also spits hot fire.

Now, I can’t tell you whether Depay’s lyrics are any good since I’m not fluent or conversant in Dutch. My instinct is to say they aren’t because my instincts are pretty great. So maybe referring to his lyrics as ”hot fire” was premature. But I can tell you that his flow’s pretty good, despite Dutch sounding like someone gargling rocks. That, alone, is impressive. Have yourself a listen.

I’ll be disappointed if he’s rhyming about getting a close shave.

Maybe you need another sample. Here’s another song, probably called “It’s the Move Bae,” unless they’re actually saying something in Dutch, in which case I have no idea what this song’s called. Depay’s verse starts at 1:45. I’ll see you on the other side of the video. Bring your disappointment. Actually, that’s what the song should be called. Disappointment.

Fine, it’s called “Flexin.” Whatever. And the group he’s in, here, is called Rotterdam Airlines. Seriously. That’s kind of a dope name. Oh, you want more Rotterdam Airlines feat. Memphis? OK, here you go. Depay’s verse starts at 2:16.

I can’t take any of this seriously. Also, I take back anything positive I’ve said about this music. Also, you’re welcome.
