The Germán Denis bicycle kick that should be worth extra points for Atalanta

We go to Italy, where Atalanta is fighting relegation. That is another way of saying the team’s bad and desperate, which doesn’t make for good socce … OH MY GOD.

THAT FLICK. THAT HEADER. THAT BICYCLE KICK.

So. Pretty.

That goal from Argentine Germán Denis put Atalanta in front, 1-0. If it holds on to win, it’ll be seven points clear of the drop, but that would be a load of you know what. Goals like that should come with extra points. If you do that, you don’t just get three points for the win, but three more for awesomeness, so Atalanta would be 10 points clear – helpful, given one team below it might have decided to be good.

Honestly, the lack of extra awesome bonus points are why Serie A has faltered in recent years. But Atalanta is trying to save the league, one holy crap goal at a time.
