Africa gets its first win of the World Cup
Earlier today CONCACAF got its second win of the tournament after Costa Rica upset Uruguay. Today, Asia and Africa tried to get on the board when Ivory Coast played Japan in Recife. It was the West Africans who got the job done. They trailed at the half when Keisuke Honda put Japan ahead, but the Elephants scored two within two minutes of the second half. Didier Drogba started on the bench and he didn’t appear happy (see below), but as soon as he came on, he made an impact. Think he’ll be in the starting XI next game? Check out our GIFs from another entertaining match.
Ah ha, Die Serey’s mohawk is better than Balotell’s.
Japan has an Italian coach, Alberto Zaccheroni. (That’s two-thirds of the Axis powers.)
Happy Japan fans—before kick-off.
